Destin Gets Cooking with Chef Series
We’re always on the hunt for fun culinary experiences in and around Destin, Florida. Each month, Chef Jimmy McManus selects one of his favorite dishes, ranging from fish and shrimp to beer and duck, and shares his tips for preparation.
Upon arrival, participants are welcomed into the intimate dining room overlooking the scenic Destin Harbor. After receiving a ccomplimentary wine or beverage, Chef McManus shares his expertise while preparing the featured dish.
While his love for culinary arts began in a fast paced deli in Brooklyn, NY, Chef McManus took flight at age 19 and joined Air France where he began his journey across America discovering different cultures and cuisines. He has devoted more than 30 years to perfecting his craft. In 2004, Chef McManus joined forces with Legendary Inc. He oversees Legendary’ s expansive food and beverage portfolio, including Legendary Yacht Club and Regatta Bay Golf & Country Club as well as the all the kitchens at Emerald Grande. In 2002, he was selected to be part of an elite group of guest chefs at the James Beard Foundation in NYC.
His next Cooking with the Chef program will be December 4 and will feature one of his signature dishes, brown sugar and vanilla bourbon lacquered duck.
