Destin Picked as a Winner in the Kentucky Derby

Destin will be racing in this year’s Kentucky Derby! And of course, we’ll be cheering on this special horse that has our coastal city as his name. Not only do we have many friends, guests and owners in Kentucky, but Destin’s ties to the Kentucky Derby are even deeper this year. 
Destin, a three-year old colt, raced at Tampa Bay Downs on March 12. He won the race, and set a track record in the process. Now Destin will run in the Kentucky Derby on May 5-6 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Destin’s mother is “Dream of Summer.” Owners Randy Gullatt and Steve Davison said they came up with the name Destin because Destin is a great place to dream of summer AND Destin means “fate or destiny.”
