Destin’s Bayou, Bay & Back 5K Run/Walk, 10K & Half Marathon
Grab your sneakers! We've found a great event that's right in-line with our January healthy living in Destin, Fla. theme--the 3rd Annual Destin’s Bayou, Bay & Back 5K Run/Walk, 10K & Half Marathon to be held on Jan. 26, 2013. The race begins at Clement Taylor Park, 131 Calhoun Ave., in Destin, at 7:30 a.m., rain or shine.
Awards will be presented to the overall winners, male and female, as well as to winners in multiple age categories. The half marathon, new to the event in 2012, showcases the Choctawhatchee Bay, Destin Harbor, and East Pass, as its course leads runners through Destin, along a 4-mile undeveloped stretch of Okaloosa Island, and back. Registration is available via Active.com.
A portion of race proceeds will benefit the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) of Northwest Florida State College. The CBA is an organization committed to sustaining and providing optimum utilization of the Choctawhatchee Basin watershed.
