Pumpkinpalooza Comes to Destin

A Haunted Harbor Halloween in Destin

Halloween is right around the corner and we're getting in the spirit at Newman-Dailey. There are lots of haunted happenings all around Destin, Fla. during the coming week.

If you're visiting Destin this weekend, you won't want to miss Pumpkinpalooza 2012 at HaborWalk Village! The weekend-long celebration starts with the Fort Walton Beach Jaycees Haunted House, Oct. 25 - 31, opening nightly at 7 p.m. The former Shed BBQ and Blues Joint has been transformed into The FEAR Laboratory, where extreme science experiments on volunteers go terribly wrong. Tickets are $8.00.

On Friday, HarborWalk Village will show the Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast on the main stage (yes, dressing the part is encouraged). On Sat.at 7 p.m., the Magical Halloween Parade will kick off the evening's festivities followed by the wacky, wild and wonderful Annual Adult  Halloween costume contest on the HarborWalk Village stage at 9 p.m.

On Sun. from 2-5 p.m., the Not-So-Spooky Family Fun Fest, includes spooky train rides for the little ghosts and goblins, a pet howl o'ween costume contest for four-legged friends benefiting the Alaqua Animal Refuge, Trip or Treat to win cash, trips and prizes from HarborWalk merchants, and a Friendly Haunted House for kids age age 13 and under. Kids can Trick-or-Treat throughout the Haunted House and throughout HarborWalk Village. All crafts and kids contests are free and open to the public.

Happy Hauntings!
