Historic Holiday Celebrations
The holidays always make us nostalgic. One of our favorite places to relive historic celebrations is with the annual
Eden State Gardens
Candlelight Tour taking place Saturday, Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m. It is a spectacular sight to see the Wesley House decorated in holiday splendor. Upon arrival, you'll be
greeted by Civil War re-enactors in period garb and , after the tour is completed, the Friends of Eden will be providing refreshments in the pavilion.
If you miss the Eden Tour, head up to historic DeFuniak Springs for Christmas Reflections. The beautifully decorated, historic Victorian-style homes surrounding Lake DeFuniak are reminiscent of Christmases long ago. The whole family will enjoy driving (or walking) around the lake to view more than 3 million lights and holiday decorations. The display opens each evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and admission is only $3 per person, with children 6 and under free. Ride in style with
Sunshine Limousine
, offering special package rates for holiday excursions from Destin and South Walton.
